This week we’ll reflect on Patrick Kuwana’s talk during the FLOW conference 2023.
Patrick shared his testimony and highlighted 3 distinctive phases, from trying to earn God’s favor and blessing to where he allowed God to work in him to become fully surrendered to God’s will for his life:
❌ He started as a Religious Church goer, following the pattern below:
Striving to earn his salvation
Not being led by the Holy Spirit
Void of real relationship with God the Father,
Ticking as many religious boxes of compliance as possible
Wearing the false mask of righteousness while battling guilt and shame
❌ Patrick then changed from the pattern above to start doing things his own strength, having a Kingdom Pursuit led by his own flesh, he calls it the Gospel of self-preservation:
Seeking approval of man
Building his own Kingdom
Having his own agenda and way
Doing things by his own strength
Elevating the self and gratifying flesh
Being Self-righteousness and seeking glory
✅ The last pattern, he calls; Kingdom Pursuit as a ‘dying man’, he finally became obedient, and it allowed God to transform him as he:
He followed God’s agenda, His Voice, and being led by the Holy Spirit
He became dead to himself, picking up his cross daily
Surrendered to God’s will and not to his own will
God became his greatest reward and treasure
He became set apart for God
Reading the above, we ask ourselves, what does this have to do with wealth?
The answer is simple, it has everything to do with wealth.
When we lay the foundation for Kingdom wealth, we first need to start with God and how we surrender to His ways.
Taking a deeper look at the Word of God, we need to stop, think, and ask ourselves questions about what drives us and what our motives are.
Here’s Patrick’s wealth cycle flow God showed him in 2013. See the diagram below:
Here are a few examples of scriptures Patrick shared, that get right to the point:
John 7:37-38
On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will FLOW rivers of living water.”
Question to ask: Who is your source of life? Of Wealth?
Matthew 6:19-21
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Question to ask: Where is your treasure?
Question to ask: What is your treasure?
Matthew 6:24
“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
Question to ask: Who sits on the throne of your heart?
May this help you in your journey to FLOW (Faith and Leadership over Wealth)
