What is Tithing?

Today, let’s pause and spotlight a crucial aspect that shapes our financial standing and plays a profound role in our Christian journey – Tithing.

What is Tithing?

Tithing, rooted in an old English term meaning “one-tenth,” involves giving 10% or more of your income to the Kingdom of God.

If circumstances limit your ability, even starting with 1% holds significance.

Tithing is a tangible demonstration of trust in God.

How we give is just as vital.

As 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 states: But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

God doesn’t demand our money; He desires our hearts.

Often, our hearts are entwined with money, competing for priority over God.

Prioritizing God means submitting to His provision.

Investing in His Kingdom makes you a shareholder, and God’s abundance, as stated in Philippians 4:19, knows no bounds.

Lastly, Tithing is holy to God:

Leviticus 27:30 says:

And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s. It is holy to the Lord.

With approximately 2350 verses about money in the Bible, God underscores the significance of financial stewardship.

It is important to understand that tithing is a Godly principle not a law. It started with Abraham and not with Moses (Heb. 7:6).

May you embrace the joy of giving and experience the boundless provision of God.

Be Blessed.
