Money can be the root of all evil, or it can be a tool that we use to worship God.
Jesus presented a clear choice in Matthew 6:24: You can either serve/worship Money or God. You will love one and hate the other.
But what if we could worship and serve God, with our money?
God looks at the intention of our hearts. When we give to be seen or receive praise, we no longer serve God with our money.
How do we remove the focus and desire for money?
We start by looking at God’s plan for our finances:
1. Work is Holy:
Work as unto God, in excellence; it is God who rewards (Colossians 3:23-24).
2. Faith:
Live by faith, trust in God, and shift our eyes from our circumstances to God and His Word (2 Corinthians 5:7; Philippians 4:19).
3. Giving:
Be a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7-8; Acts 20:25).
4. Surrender:
Commit and surrender your plans to God (Proverbs 16:3).
5. Plan:
Plan, budget, pay your debtors, and count the cost (James 5:4-6; Proverbs 21:5).
6. Save:
Store up wealth (Proverbs 30:24-25).
God ultimately desires our hearts and willingness to serve Him wholeheartedly.
God bless you in the week ahead.
